We started with an introduction to what Tribal Beliefs are: the deep assumptions associated with the human constellations of our life that we often accept without question. Sometimes a belief is good for us, but sometimes it can get in the way of being our true selves and of an individual or community reaching its true potential.
We first brainstormed the tribes we belong to. We create an amazingly long, diverse, and quixotic list:
We jointly discussed how to process this list and decided to annotate each item. We signed up by indicating the tribes we belong to, which ones gave us a good and helpful feeling, and which ones gave us negative or unhelpful feelings. The attached graphs summarize the result. There was long and interesting discussion (you had to be there).
